The ear mites are the mites that live in the ear canal of humans and animals. Although they are more common in animals, they may also be found in humans.

- Several types of mites can live around or in the outer canal of the human ear and feed on oils and cerumen secreted there.

- Some of these mites – that the most common is Otodectes cynotis – can jump between humans and animals in close contact. So they are very contagious and spread quickly. But others, like Demodex mite, are dedicated to each species and cannot be transmitted from human to animal or vice versa.

- Ear mites can be as annoying to humans as they are to animals. If you have mite in your ear, you may have the following symptoms:
