Dermatitis VS Eczema

Red, inflamed, itchy, and scaly skin

Do the above symptoms indicate eczema or dermatitis is a better word for it? 🤔

Dermatitis and eczema are two closely related terms used interchangeably even in some scientific texts. However, they are somehow different in their exact meaning. 😮

Dermatitis is a general term that describes any skin irritation or inflammation. On the other hand, eczema is a type of dermatitis called "atopic," which usually occurs in people with allergies. In this condition, the skin usually becomes very dry.

No clinical test exists for finding out eczema; diagnosis is based on clinical examination and family history. 🙁

Corticosteroids, immunosuppressive drugs, and treating skin infections (including Demodex Mite) are some of the approaches to treat eczema.

If Demodex mites play a role in causing or exacerbating dermatitis, PROCUTiN can help solve this problem. Contact our experts for more information. 😉
